Our People - Thank you for being by our sides

  • Parents of the Groom

Jess & Gareth are Gordon’s wonderful parents, and have lovingly raised him and his three siblings.
Gareth spent his career as an executive in the oil industry, while Jess divided her working life caring for the family, as well as assorted countryside and charitable endeavours. The family moved to Widgery House – the wedding celebration venue – in 1993, and it’s been the family ‘forever home’ ever since. Over the years Widgery gained notoriety locally for the legendary parties hosted there… So we have a reputation to uphold!

Jess and Gareth are now most commonly found enjoying their much-deserved retirement in their cherished garden, along with the dogs, cats, cows, chickens, fish, foxes, badgers and many other regular wild visitors!
Jess and Gareth love Lorna dearly, and while the wedding will make it all official, Lorna has been a member of the family since day one.

  • Parents of the Bride

Frank and Julia, Lorna’s beloved parents, and two thirds of a tightly knit trio have raised their only daughter with endless love, laughter and unwavering support. They have shown her every day what a loving, joyful and strong marriage truly is.

Known for their legendary hospitality (get ready for margaritas from the Cocktail King!), and passion for family, now having conquered the academic world they are embracing retirement with a spirit of adventure and a love for travel, exploring new corners of the world.

Frank and Julia love Gordon and couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome him into the family officially on this special day.

  • Maid of Honour - Alice

Alice is Lorna’s oldest and dearest childhood friend. They went to the same school, spent their teenage years together, and remained best friends through medical school and adult life. Lorna was Alice’s maid of Honour in 2024

  • Best Man - James

Ali Ward introduced Gordon and JD at one of the fabled Widgery house parties, and they immediately bonded over a mutual love of music, F1, Top Gear, and gin.

  • Bridesmaid - Laura

Lorna’s closest friend from sixth form, they bonded over ‘Cake Fridays’, Chemistry lessons and first experiences of clubbing out in Cambridge. Now they’ve hung up their dancing shoes but plan to whip them out on the wedding dancefloor of course!

  • Bridesmaid - Nikhita

Lorna and Niki met on day 1 of their careers as doctors – both as clueless as each other they trauma bonded, experiencing many ‘firsts’ together… catheter insertions, digital rectal exams and crying on ward rounds. They have been best friends ever since.

  • Bridesmaid - Francesca

Lorna’s cousin, they spent most weekends together growing up in their made up world of games. Francesca now lives in Berlin so the two love eachother from afar via 20 minute voicenotes

  • Bridesmaid - Nicole

Lorna’s Christmas fanatic, crossword doing, all black wearing, gin, coffee and ramen noodle loving cousin. She is the mayo of the Raymond cousins keeping them all together

  • Bridesmaid - Sarah

The youngest and most effortlessly glamorous of all Lorna’s cousins, the pressure is on to set the pace and lead the way on the dancefloor!

  • Groomsman - Tom

Gordon’s older brother and daily Wordle nemesis. While Tom lives a couple hour’s drive away, they keep in regular contact discussing the latest niche and unusual horror movies.

  • Groomsman - William

In spite of being the tallest, Will is the baby brother of the family. Working in set construction for the movie & TV industry, Will has been to Morder, played frisbee with Morpheus, and seen Danny Dyer naked.

  • Groomsman - Luke

Gordon met Luke at one of Luke’s gigs, and they became immediate and enduring friends. Luke even lived at Widgery for a time, and is an honorary Allinson.

  • Groomsman - Alistair

Ali is Gordon’s oldest friend since school. Although Ali lives in Hong Kong, when they are reunited it feels like they’ve never been apart.

  • Groomsman - Robert

Gordon and Rob became fast friends, with a shared passion for all things automotive, and even worked together for a time. Rob now lives a rural life in the South West, but they regularly reunite for Goodwood events and more.
